MANAMA: A Bahrain court yesterday jailed 11 Bahraini men for one to seven years for rioting and related offences, reports RASHA AL QAHTANI. One was jailed for seven years and fined BD9,985 for causing unrest, violence against police and hurling a Molotov cocktail inside a police car. Four were jailed for five years for causing unrest, violence against police, torching a police car and stealing guns and ammunition. Six were jailed for a year each for obtaining and possessing a gun and causing unrest, while others were acquitted of all charges.
Sextuplet critical
MANAMA: The last surviving sextuplet born to a Bahrain couple was clinging to life last night with breathing difficulties and irregular blood pressure, doctors said. “She is now on high medications and there doesn’t seem any chance that she’ll make it,” Salmaniya Medical Complex consultant neonatologist Dr Mohammed Al Rufie said, reports BEGENA P PRADEEP. “We had started giving her milk last week when her condition had improved but now she is back to nutritional IV.” Weighing 490gm, she was the second smallest of the six children, who were born by a Caesarean section at SMC on June 22. The fifth sextuplet died on July 6 of chest complications. The babies’ mother has been discharged and is recovering from home.
