Sashi Kantha, 34, working for a pizzeria in the Juffair locality of the Bahraini capital Manama, committed suicide by hanging himself, according to a report in the Gulf Daily News.

Kantha, hailing from Mangalore in the Indian state of Karnataka, was reportedly suffering from brain tumour and had been married for eight months.

A suicide note found near his body stated that nobody should be held responsible for his death, the report said.

‘Mr Kantha has been working with us for almost two-and-a-half years and was one of our best employees – very hardworking,’ the manager of the pizzeria told the newspaper.

In another unrelated incident, a 39-year-old woman who worked as a maidservant in a Bahraini family, committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in a Manama restaurant Tuesday.

Ramanna Jayamangala, hailing form from Andhra Pradesh in India, had allegedly run away from the Bahraini family for whom she worked a year ago, her Bahraini sponsor who identified her body said.

The victim’s sister told the public prosecutor that Jayamangala was upset over an affair with somebody in Saudi Arabia, according to the Gulf Daily News.
