Many relevant questions remain unanswered following the alleged shooting of a Bahraini, Abbas Ali Salman Al Shakhoori, 28, early yesterday morning in Adliya.
According to the Ministry of Interior he ostensibly fell down at 2.20am when he was coming out of the nightclub where he worked as a security official.
However, the ‘victim’ had a suspicious injury on his temple and it is possible that he had been shot, an option that has not been ruled out, according to the authorities who are now awaiting the medical report.

A CID team has specially been formed to probe the incident and question eyewitnesses. The ministry has asked anyone with relevant information to come forward or call 17718888 and help the inquiry.
He was placed on life support systems in the ICU at Salmaniya Medical Complex. It is reported that he is in a coma in what can only be described as hanging on to life on a slender thread.
After the news broke in the morning, family members, neighbours and villagers gathered at the hospital ward. “My uncle was shot on the temple by an unidentified person while he was working,” said his nephew, Juma Mohammed Juma. “We are informed that he was shot from as far as 100 metres and he fell on the ground lying in a pool of blood.”
But why or who are questions that have yet to be answered nor is there any evidence to indicate that distance for a shooting, since it would negate pistols and shotguns because of the range.
No one has come forward to confirm the sound of a gun being fired.
There were reports that the assailant was a foreign national and the weapon was the one which is often used by the police. But these aspects are still speculation and are yet to be confirmed. By evening, the ward was flocked by human rights activists. A Member of Parliament, Shaikh Hamza Dairi, condemned the act and said that there should be a proper investigation into the case.
Police cordoned off the area yesterday and are investigating the case.
“We have temporarily closed the club and the CCTV tapes of the night are also being checked by the authorities. “He is in a critical condition and we all are praying for his recovery,” said the Group Chairman of Seven Leisure , the holding company for the chain of hotels and clubs, Karim Miknas.
A relative of Abbas who hails from Budaiya told the Tribune that he had got married three months ago. “He was happy as he had withdrawn his salary on the same day. His father cannot walk after he was informed about the incident and is in profound grief.”
Abbas’s mother collapsed when she saw her son fighting for life at the hospital. The staff checked her blood pressure and she was rushed out of the ward in a wheelchair.
Miknas said: “I was in Dubai when I was informed about the incident. My heart goes out to the family in these trying times. As far as I know, Abbas had a bad fall and there should be no speculation on this point,” he said.
