A BANGLADESHI woman executed for the murder of a Bahraini housewife bled to death for 10 minutes after she was shot in the chest by a firing squad on Monday.
Jasmine Anwar Hussain, 23, was among three murderers executed at Jaw prison at 6am.
Ms Hussain, her accomplice Bangladeshi Mohammed Hilaluddin, 33, and Pakistani Mohammed Hanif Atta Mohammed, who murdered a Bahraini man, were executed with their heads covered, said a Public Prosecution spokesman.
He said that only Jasmine suffered for 10 minutes after being shot in the chest.
“They were dressed in black, tied down to a chair with their eyes covered and a sponge placed on their chest so stop the blood from spreading,” said the spokesman.
Ms Hussain and Mr Hilaluddin were sentenced to death for the murder in Buhair, in November 2004, of Bahraini national Latifa Abdullah Abdulaziz, reportedly in an attempt to steal gold from her house.
Mr Mohammed was convicted for his part in the murder of his lover’s Bahraini husband. He had beaten the victim unconscious, doused him and his home with fuel and set it ablaze.
