Statement on Excessive Force by Bahraini Government

November 21, 2011
Washington, DC – In the wake of today’s admission by the Bahraini government to having used excessive force on protestors, Human Rights First’s Brian Dooley has issued the following statement:
“The Bahrain government is now admitting what the world has known for months, that it used excessive force in cracking down on democracy protestors. This is a welcome admission. It needs to recognize that many of the abuses continue, and that tackling impunity means more than prosecuting low-ranking officers.”
