AN Indian man was allegedly kidnapped and beaten by three other Indians and two Bahrainis because he refused to disclose the location of a runaway worker.
Construction worker John Baby Muthaiyan, aged 27, who also works as a part-time salesman at a cold store in Gudaibiya, claims that he was tied up and blindfolded by the men.
He alleges they threatened to kill him if he didn’t tell them where they could find his Indian friend Justin Jose.
Mr Muthaiyan filed a case against the men following the incident and will present the report to the Indian Embassy today for assistance.

“At around 6.30pm on Wednesday while I was at the cold store, an Indian man took me outside saying he needed to speak to me personally,” said Mr Muthaiyan.
However, he said he was taken to an alley where the men were waiting.
“One of the men there told me he was from the construction company that employed my friend, but he had run away and that they were looking for him,” said Mr Muthaiyan.
“Even though I knew where he stayed because he was my friend, I told them that I didn’t know his whereabouts.
“The men surrounded me and before I realised what was happening, my hands were tied behind me and my eyes blindfolded.
“I was shoved into a car that drove away fast and during the ride they physically assaulted me.
“I don’t know for how long the rough ride went on, but they kept on punching and hitting me continuously asking where he stayed.
“I couldn’t hold on much longer and told them the place where he stayed.
“They drove there with me and took him too, but didn’t let me go.
“Then the began beating us both during
the ride.”
Mr Muthaiyan said by around 11.30pm, the men dropped him off and drove away with Mr Jose.
“I don’t know the company where he ran away from, except that it is in the construction business,” he said.
Mr Muthaiyan said that he was too bruised and ill after the incident and didn’t leave his room until yesterday to report it to the Indian Embassy.
Embassy officials told the GDN that they had advised him to get a medical report from the Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC), as well as file a complaint with the police – which he did.
Mr Muthaiyan said he had been trying to reach Mr Jose on his mobile phone since last Thursday, but only managed to reach him yesterday at around 5pm.
“He sounded very different as if he was frightened,” he said.
“His voice was choked and before he could manage to say anything, the line went dead.
“I still don’t know where he is or what his situation is.”
When the GDN called the phone number, a Bahraini man answered and denied knowing anything about the incident.
