King pardons 178 prisoners
MANAMA: His Majesty King Hamad has pardoned 178 prisoners and detainees held over security-related charges, Interior Minister Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa announced last night.
Shaikh Rashid urged them to draw a lesson and steer away from acts that would jeopardise security, destroy people’s properties and tarnish the country’s reputation.

MANAMA: His Majesty King Hamad has pardoned 178 prisoners and detainees held over security-related charges, Interior Minister Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa announced last night.
Shaikh Rashid urged them to draw a lesson and steer away from acts that would jeopardise security, destroy people’s properties and tarnish the country’s reputation.
The royal pardon denotes His Majesty’s sound vision and wise leadership and the significance of the reforms initiated by him anchored in the principles of justice, equality and transparency, he said.
The gesture is an expression of the King’s love for his people and his eagerness to promote trust and national unity and protect the social fabric.
All citizens have to contribute to the country’s development and prosperity and oppose division and sectarianism, Shaikh Rashid said.
He conveyed His Majesty’s appreciation of the key role played by security officers in maintaining peace and stability in the kingdom in partnership with loyal Bahrainis. Serious work is the way to achieve goals set for the benefit of all citizens, Shaikh Rashid said.
