MANAMA: There has been a new twist in the case of an activist accused of inciting unrest against the kingdom’s rulers.Abdulhadi Al Khwaja, secretary-general of the dissolved Bahrain Centre for Human Rights, had denied making an inflammatory speech in a Manama street during Ashoora – using bad words to discredit the kingdom and create hatred.

It was revealed yesterday that when Chief Public Prosecutor Wael Bu Allai presented him with transcripts of his speech from various websites, he said: “I never said this.”

The prosecutor then played a tape of his voice delivering the speech and he again denied it.

Finally on being shown a video with full sound of himself making the address, he began to panic, say sources.

He has been released pending further investigation.
