MANAMA: Diplomatic and security co-ordination is to be stepped up to ensure other countries’ territories are not used to harbour terror plots against Bahrain.
The move was unveiled as Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday.
The Foreign and Interior ministries were both instructed to undertake the necessary measures to ensure countries did not help or harbour masterminds to plot against Bahrain.
The decision came as the extent of the terror plot targeting key crowded locations unfolded.
The Cabinet condemned the plot.
“Such terror designs stem from the devious doctrines thriving in the masterminds’ heads,” Cabinet Affairs Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Ateyatala Al Khalifa said.
The session dismissed such terror designs as alien to Bahrainis’ values and keenness to preserve national achievements. The security agencies were hailed for thwarting the plot and arresting the masterminds before they could hit their targets as Bahrain was celebrating.
Citizens and expatriates were also urged to be on alert and co-ordinate with security agencies to pre-empt evildoers and help foil their stratagems.
