3 years for attacking cops

The higher court has sentenced a Bahraini to three years in jail for assaulting two policemen.
The judge rejected the claim by the Public Prosecutor that they had tried to murder the cops.
According to the defence lawyer the two accused had driven over to the Bahrain Mall. Noticing that a demonstration was on they tried to take another road. Their attempt to change direction was noticed by a patrol.

According to the defence lawyer the two accused had driven over to the Bahrain Mall. Noticing that a demonstration was on they tried to take another road. Their attempt to change direction was noticed by a patrol.
They were asked to stop but the two now quiet nervous sped off. The policeman fired rubber bullets which made them even more nervous. As they negotiated a curve they hit two policemen.
The lawyer of the accused said it was not their intention to hit the policemen and it could not be considered an attempt to murder the cops.
