A political association in the kingdom has condemned the decision by the US treasury department to freeze the assets of two Bahrainis.
It also barred them from conducting any businesses in that country.
They claim the two, Adel Mahmood Mohammed Abdul Khaliq and Abdul Rahman Muhammad Jaffar Ali had provided financial and logistical support to Al Qaeda.

A political association in the kingdom has condemned the decision by the US treasury department to freeze the assets of two Bahrainis.
It also barred them from conducting any businesses in that country.
They claim the two, Adel Mahmood Mohammed Abdul Khaliq and Abdul Rahman Muhammad Jaffar Ali had provided financial and logistical support to Al Qaeda.
Mohammed Janahi, Head of the Human Rights Section of the National Justice Movement told the Tribune, “ These men are from poor backgrounds and freezing their assets will mean nothing. In Adel’s case he does not even have money for his marriage. We condemn the decision of the US authorities against the two men.”
Stuar Levey, US Treasury Undersecretary for Terrorism Department was quoted as saying “The global community should act swiftly to prohibit them from using the financial system and from travelling internationally. These three dangerous individuals must be stopped from further facilitating terrorism.”
The third person a Qatari national Khalifa Muhammad Turki Al Subaiy who according to Janahi is serving his time in jail. Bahraini, Adel Mahmood Abdul Khaliq was reportedly charged by the UAE Federal Courts for state security crimes.
He was arrested on January 14, 2007 in UAE,
Electronic equipment were seized from the Bahraini, which were later cleared as not dangerous by explosive experts.
In March this year, Adel was handed by the UAE authorities to Bahrain and is presently serving his time here.
Adel’s family members are allowed to visit him at the Jaw prison regularly.
The US treasury department further said that any assets of the three men under US jurisdiction will be frozen, and Americans will be prohibited from doing business with them.
