A BAHRAINI sponsor who has allegedly kidnapped a runaway worker after forcing a friend to reveal his whereabouts, has reportedly promised to present him at the Hoora Police Station today.
Indian Justin Jose was allegedly snatched from his apartment in Gudaibiya last Wednesday.
His friend John Baby Muthaiyan, also Indian, says he was snatched earlier and beaten until he revealed where he was.
Both men were then allegedly assaulted in a car by five men, three Indians and two Bahrainis.
Mr Muthaiyan, a construction worker who also works as a part-time salesman at a cold store in Gudaibiya, claims that he was tied up and blindfolded by the men, after he initially refused to disclose his friend’s whereabouts.

He alleges they threatened to kill him if he didn’t tell them where they could find Mr Jose.
Mr Muthaiyan filed a police case against the men following the incident and also presented the report to the Indian Embassy yesterday. “I presented the papers of my medical report and those of the case filed at the police station to embassy officials, who promised to look into the matter and do the needful,” said Mr Muthaiyan to the GDN.
“Jose’s sponsor was summoned by the police and completely denied the assault, but I can prove it with the medical report from Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC).
“He said he would bring Jose as well as the five men to the station.”
Mr Muthaiyan said he was working at the cold store last Wednesday evening, when an Indian man asked him to go outside, saying he needed to talk to him privately.
He said he was taken to an alley, ambushed by five men, tied up and bundled into a car.
Mr Muthaiyan said he was repeatedly punched until he told the men where Mr Jose was staying. He said they then drove to Mr Jose’s Gudaibiya flat, where the men seized him.
Mr Muthaiyan said he and Mr Jose were then driven round and beaten.
He said the men dropped him off at around 11.30pm and drove off with Mr Jose, who has not been seen since.
Mr Muthaiyan said that he was too bruised and ill after the incident and didn’t leave his room until Monday to report it to the Indian Embassy.
Embassy officials told the GDN that they had advised him to get a medical report from SMC, as well as to file a complaint with the police – which he did.
Mr Muthaiyan said he had been trying to reach Mr Jose on his mobile phone since last Thursday, but only managed to reach him on Monday at around 5pm.
Mr Jose sounded frightened and before he could say much, the line went dead, said Mr Muthaiyan. When the GDN called the phone number on Monday, a Bahraini man answered and denied knowing anything about the men or the incident.
No-one was answering the number yesterday.
