The Bahrain Center for Human Rights (BCHR) congratulates the President of the center and the prominent human rights defender Nabeel Rajab on his release from Bahraini prisons a few days before the fourth anniversary of his arrest.
Rajab was released in what is known as alternative sentences. In a message from one of his siblings, it was written that the health condition of human rights defender Nabeel Rajab was deplorable. He was released due to his weak immunity and poor health.
Meanwhile, the human rights activist Nedal Al-Salman expressed her joy at Rajab’s release and praised the efforts of human rights defenders and the international community that led to the decision of release. She called on the Bahraini authorities, amid the current circumstances and the spread of the Coronavirus, to release all political and prisoners of conscience.
